Hayle Club was elected to membership in 1973,
and is included within the District 1290. In May 1978 we twinned
with French Rotary Club, Pornic-Pays de Retz. At present we have
a club project on-going with Pornic.
We are a small Club of some 20 members, but we are committed to
bringing the ideal of Rotary Service into our local and worldwide
community. We have carried out an extensive programme of projects
since we were formed, both at home and abroad. We have for many
years enjoyed a twinning arrangement with our Contact Club, the
Rotary Club of Pornic, Pays de Retz near Nantes in France.
We meet each Monday (other than Bank Holidays) at
7.00pm at the White Hart Hotel, and all visitors and partners will
find a warm and friendly welcome at any of our meetings - we are
renowned throughout the District for the fellowship enjoyed.
The White Hart is located at 10, Foundry Square, Hayle.

Almost every Club member holds a postion within the Hayle locality - serving as governors of local schools, members of local churches, acting as treasurers, chairmen, secretaries and committee members of numerous organisations. This embodies the object of Rotary - "Service above Self".
The Club thanked David Jones for his excellent, entertaining year in office and feel sure that the fun will continue!!!
Also at the handover celebrations were Hayle Inner Wheel Presidents, past and present. Helen Caseley who handed her chain of office over to Barbara Daniel. Both Presidents for 2008/09 are committed to close co-operation for the benefit of the two Clubs.
Hayle Inner Wheel are great supporters of the Annual Car Show and will be assisting once again this year in August, and the Rotary Club will be recipricating when the Inner Wheel Club hold their charity event for Marie Curie in September. |
